It was the admission day in the college. Location was the college auditorium.(It's called Barn... hmm i think so..) All the admission committee staff were seated on the stage. All the prospective candidates were seated on the viewer area with their parents. We went late by 1 hour and wasn't sure whether my name was called up. The only way to know was to walk up to the stage and enquire somebody among the staff.
It might sound really simple. In a completely new environment that too when hundreds of unknown people are sitting quietly and waiting for their turn, i think it really needs some guts to walk up the stage and enquire something.
I did walk up the stage. Got to know that my name wasn't called up yet.
It was one of those moments in life where we are scared like hell, but still proceed with a brave front.
The interesting point is, one of my batchmate/hostelmate later told me that her father was highly impressed on my action of going boldly and asking the details on my own. It seems when i went up to enquire, he had pointed at me and told her that even she should learn to do things on her own without fear like me.
When i told her that i was actually scared like hell, she never believed my words.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The thing is,in life we are always facing these moments in one form or other...
All the first moments in life are the scariest... Probably thatswhy taking a first step is in itself a huge step :)
First day in my first job...first flight journey outside country...first experience in Frankfurt in searching the terminals and catching the connecting flight...first immigration check in the new country...first time experience of hiring a cab and reaching the hotel in a foreign country (infact we don't even know whether the guy is taking us to the hotel or going to kill us in some remote location... ok a worst case scenario..but still it's possible)...first time experience of standing infront of the US Embassy officer for the Visa and wondering whether he's going to reject it for some unknown reason...first time experience of actually getting the visa rejected for a completely arbit reason and feeling totally helpless...and life goes on...
And the thing is, many times in life, you just have to do it that too on your own. These are the moments when i feel really lonely even with so many people around.

IPL - Manoranjan ka baap!!!
I used to be a Formula 1 freak, now toned down to be a Formula1 fan!
I used to watch/follow cricket when Azhar was the Indian Team captain and when Ajay Jadeja was a favourite cricketer among girls. When a huge scandal was exposed among the Indian Cricket team members, i was one of the fans who ceased to follow cricket.
I neither follow any cricket matches nor know who are the players in Indian cricket team.
I didn't even know that Dhoni is also a wicket keeper.
I am also one of the people who bought the Outlook Business with Frontcover "Indian Profit League". I bought the magazine to understand the business perspective of IPL and identify the shares to invest to get some profit out of the IPL.
Here is the article "The Businessman's Game".
After reading the article, i understood that the most important person responsible for all the profit making of individuals is the Indian Citizens, all (s)he has to do is to watch and follow the game and inturn get nothing from monetary perspective (infact spend money in terms of Stadium Tickets, T-shirts,etc).
See how million individuals contribute to the wealth creation of a few hundred individuals !!!!
This is exactly the reason why i get sometimes irritated to really spend 100 bucks for a SRK Movie or a big house production movie!!
(Ok, i understand he might deserve what he is getting, he might have worked hard to achieve what he has, but still this strange thought of individual contribution does irk me a bit.)
Strangely, now i seem to have become one of those million individuals! Although till date, i have not spent a single paisa towards IPL, i am one of the million individuals responsible for increased TRP Ratings of IPL :)
So why is this change? How did this start?
Did i rediscover my love towards cricket? Did i really stumble upon any handsome cricket player ? :)
Not really...On Apr 28th, while browsing channels at around 8.30pm, i kept SonyMAX because i didn't have any good programmes to watch on that particular day at that particular time.
The match was between Chennai Super Kings and Royal challengers. And Royal challengers played so pathetically, like how Chennai Super Kings played on May 21st. They literally let the game slip from their hands.
This was the first match i saw and i saw it fully because Chennai Super Kings were winning.
This was the beginning and now i have ended up watching all Chennai Super Kings matches in TV.
Still i am not watching all other matches.
I am watching IPL only as a supporter of Chennai team and ofcourse Dhoni, Morkel, Gony and Bhadri!
But for a person, who wasn't even following cricket for years, watching any match now is a real change. The complete credit goes to IPL.
And i completely agree that Indian Premier League is really the Manoranjan ka baap, in its true sense, one way or the other.... :)
